RUST IN PIECE

Let's re-cap: last March, I got hooked on Gundam. It started with a Non grade 1/100 scale Ground type Tieren and an MG 1/100 scale GN-X. I started off with the Tieren, finished the kit, continued halfway with the GN-X, came to dead-end and halted since. 4 months later, here I am trying to resurrect that diorama project. It took me a while to "destroy" the Tieren, as it was a nice model and not that cheap either, but it had to be done for the 'greater good'. Here's some WIP pics..

Here's where I left it before..(ref. "Giant Robots!" thread)

The final moments before the 'destruction'

Applying rust onto the right leg. Looks good So far. Humbrol Rust Enamel and Burnt Umber oil color.

*I CAN"T THINK OF A WITTY TITLE TODAY*

A weekend of cold and dampness. It rained the whole day yesterday, so I had all the time in the world to continue my endeavors with the Iron Man replica. I ran out of the pink car-putty thingie, so I used paper clay instead. So far, it seems to be working..Aside from the excess lumps. I need to sand more..humbug. Here are some progress pics...

As you see, there are still a lot of things to be done. The paper clay's a bit thick though.

IN-BETWEEN DAYS

Between the iron man bust, the bungalow, my office works, Fazli's commission and other stuff, I managed to squeeze a mini-project; Armored Core's Rosenthal Hogire Noblesse Oblige with V.O.B (hopefully customized soon). Pardon me, I was too lazy to snap any photos for the WIP, it was a straightforward build anyways. The Kotobukiya kit was excellent in detail far superior than those of a Bandai MGs but the snap-fittings were a fucking bitch. This would easily be the first and the last time I'm gonna do a Koto kit. Anyway, here's some post progress pics. I'm in the middle of weathering it, juggling between Fazli's final battle damage Megatron.

Right after completion....This is before any weathering or the completion of the V.O.B

V.O.B attached, with partial weathering

the making of RED RAGE

This is the first time I'm doing a Perfect Grade Gundam kit. There's about a million runners, 20 billion parts and a world of decals for this fucker. I was a bit scared to start, having bought this kit for a hefty sum. I wouldn't wanna screw it up. But kits are meant to be cut, snapped, glued and painted. So that's what I did. www.dalong.net has an extensive review of the kit (but it's in Korean) so I'm gonna skip that. All I can say is damn, the kit is worth every penny. The plastic quality is superb. And the pieces fits perfectly. The skeleton parts has a kind of gloss coating that was so cool, I decided not to AB it. I just painted the detailed parts. Here's some pics..
