On a lighter note, I've managed to finish Boyarque's Leader class Megatron yesterday. Took some photos of the finished product, but only one came out nice..So I guess I'm gonna re-shoot the whole damn thing again tonight.. for now, here's some WIP shots...

And a teaser of how it looked like finally...........

I went to see the doctor last 2 nights due to my thumbnail's "cagu" or "cengkam kuku". I really don't know what to call it in english. I arrived at 6.30 pm. The clinic was in the Projects Housing in Bandar Tun Razak and parking was a bitch. The area was kinda clean though. I registered and took a waiting number. I got 34 and it was 26 at that time. So, I waited..and waited..and waited..and waited.............It was 8.30 when my number was called. 2 fucking hours! They do surgeries here? When I went in, the nurse took my blood pressure and laughed when I told her I had "cagu". And then I saw the doctor. He was in 50s I guess. Has a pleasant face, and very soft spoken. He asked me what's wrong, I told him about the "cagu"..He smiled and said "It's the GERMS!" and started to explain to me the english name for cagu: PARONYCHIA. He then explained that Paro comes from a greek word which means nail (if I could rememver correctly) and nychia, a latin word that I've forgotten what it means. He started to tell me the history of the name, how you can get infected bla bla I know why it took so long to get to my number.
But he was nice enough to ask whether I need an M.C not. I declined and so just gave me a painkiller shot and some antibiotics. And the total for everything was only 30 bucks! It could easily be 70 bucks or more at other clinics and this doctor just charged me 30! Now I understand why the place was so full of people.
Dr. Kassim, I salute you for your services!

Alhamdulillah, everything went well last night. Everything has been cleared, old grudges forgiven, all is well. Hopefully, things will remain that way.
Anyway, I managed to take some photos of both projects I'm working at..

Not in the mood to write though. Maybe tomorrow....

Like I said before, last weekend was a good one. Saturday was fully utilized, come Sunday, an old friend of mine invited me to his house for some makan-makan. He informed that most of our friends would be there. Naturally, I accepted the offer. His house was almost an hour's drive from mine. When I reached there, I saw faces that was last seen about ten years ago. They belong to friends I had lost contact with. I suddenly find myself ten years younger. Everybody was married execpt yours truly. I was still the same old bastard they knew before. Now I know that the gathering was actually an informal reunion of MRSM Kuantan 1995 batch, the school I never went to. To explain how I got to know these individuals would probably take an electrician's timing to come up with the schematics of the human heart, so I'll just skip the part. These are the brothers I never had, and comrades that I would gladly die for. Thank you for the memories...

Allrighty then..The weekend was a good one. Went to visit the Kajang site with my contractor Saturday morning, met up with a potential client afterwards, who wanted me to design a preparation bar for his boutique tea cafe in Kelana Jaya..and afterwards, when I got home, continued Pepatung's commission #02: Boyarque's Megatron repaint. I've dismantled the main parts, painted the base silver color and started with the detail paintworks. Boyarque wanted his Megatron to be minimally worn, not too much scar and weathering..a bit different than the one I had in mind for Fazli's Megatron, which is good..Anyhoo, here's some update pics....

No, I don't have any updates yet for the diorama..And no, I haven't snapped any pictures of the progress as well. Yes, I got a few ideas on how it will look like. Yes, the Tieren will be fucked (not literally) by the GN-X. Yes, I've started building the GN-X unit but No, there are no photos yet. No, it will not distract me from my other comissions. Yes, I still need to finish up the 2 Leader Class Megatron repaint comissions. Yes, I've started Boyak's but there's still a lotta things to do. No, I haven't lost the passion to do the Gundam diorama..And no, I didn't forget about the star wars vehicles repaint projects. Yes, I know I have too many things in my head now. And yes, the Kajang House will be built, Insyaallah..Yes, the client has signed the agreement with my contractor last night. No, we haven't obtained the approvals just yet, but we will, hopefully. Yes, I'll post in the progress pics soon. Well, that's that...

At long last, the diorama is done! After a long and painstaking 3 months, I've finally managed to complete my NECA 18" custom T800 diorama. So, without further ado, I present to you....."FUTURE: TERMINATED"!!

I'm in the midst of a crisis. A few months back, the gundam craze got to me. I bought a coupla model kits (1/100 scales mostly) in the hopes of building myself a fine diorama. I was certain I'm gonna make a real impressive show. I mean, I've done rotting corpses and life-sized terminators, right? A robot diorama should be a piece of cake! So, I started off by assembling a 1/100 scale Tieren Ground unit, the 'victim' in this diorama. It was a relatively easy and enjoyable built.

I assembled the parts, waiting for the right time to start with the weathering and washes.

I browsed the net to look for inspiration for the diorama while waiting for the weekends to come. To my horror, I found out that I was wrong about everything. I found a few guys who does really WICKED gundam dioramas!! Their works are so overwhelming that it makes me wanna just throw away everything and give up.
I now know that building gundams are not a piece of cake. It takes careful planning, a lot of sleepless nights, a whole lotta patience and most importantly, PASSION. Just thinking about the whole process sent shivers down my spine. I lost all the confidence I had before. The best thing I could do is to follow what my old teacher used to say; if you reach a dead end, sleep over it. Hopefully, you'll find your way tomorrow. So, I slept.

Today, I'm full of new energy. Can't wait to face the Gundam Challenge! Eager to shed blood for the thing that keeps me sane..I'll keep on posting, and I'll keep on building!

I had a very interesting weekend. It started with a call from XL saying that my Sideshow T-600 life size bust has arrived. I've waited for half a year for this, almost gave up and they said that it's finally here and I can pick it up anytime soon! So, I did what an other sensible joe would, I went there, paid in full and brought it to its new home.(miskin aku bulan ni) The bust itself was HUGE! VERY detailed, nicely painted rust. All in all, although it costed me a hand, it's WORTH IT!

Check out the size of the box!

Now all I need is Linda Hamilton...

I used to go back at 2-3am in the morning when I was in ZLG Sdn. Bhd. Sometimes I don't go back at all. If I get lucky, I can ride the last night train. Nowadays, I go back at 5.30pm sharp, everyday without fail. I can see the sun almost everyday. I can have teh tarik with my friends, go see a movie or two before I come home. The pace has slowed down for me. But once in a while, I miss the chaos.
Maybe I miss the rush of adrenaline when trying to finish the deadline in 3 hours. Or the excitement of riding to Challenge Park Site and witnessing my first non-residential project coming into bloom, slowly. Or was it just the pure passion for design?
